About Trey Mendez
My given name is Juan "Trey" Mendez III, but you can call me Trey. I was born right here in Brownsville, Texas and haven’t strayed far from home. I attended public schools in Brownsville before earning my bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Brownsville where I fell in love with the legal system. From there, I was accepted into the University of Texas at Austin School of Law before returning home with a commitment to serving the people of my beloved hometown along with those living in San Benito, Harlingen, McAllen, South Padre Island, Port Isabel, South Texas, and Cameron counties.
Growing up in a Texas border town instilled in me an appreciation for hard work, epic struggles, and perseverance. I also learned that in order to get results, I needed to set goals and work diligently to achieve those goals. Here I am now, back in Brownsville having achieved my dream of becoming an attorney who can make a difference in the lives of the people I serve.
While that goal has been reached, my work is far from done. Each new case brings with it a new challenge and new goals to be set and accomplished. My Texas roots, work ethic, and law degree place me in a unique position to help.
